First, you need to have a diet plan. You have to ask your dietician on the best foods you need to eat to lose weight fast. Ideally, shedding off five pounds per week is more than enough. 
This is great so that your body will not go into shock of losing much energy that it needs. It is important to eat more fruits and vegetables for fiber and better bowel movement. If you are into weights training, eating foods rich in protein will help in building your muscles.
Of course, it would be best to eat the fruits at least 20 minutes prior to eating a full meal. This helps you for better metabolism and digestion. Aside from that, chew your food well and make sure to eat small portions just as so you won't not feel bloated.
Another thing that you need to consider is that you should never skip a meal. People think that they will lose weight if they skip a meal. Technically, they would gain more. 
This is because when we skip a meal, our body has the tendency to slow our metabolism and store more fats rather than burning it. This is because our bodies are making sure that we have enough energy for our daily activities. When we eat more in small portions, our metabolism gets faster thus causes to burn more fats.
Drinking a lot of water is also great as it cleans your internal organs through proper oxygenation. You must drink at least eight glasses of water every day. It would also help to avoid soda and carbonated drinks because they are too high on sugar causing you to gain more weight.
Lastly, proper exercise is a must for proper blood circulation. The more you exercise, the better it will be for your body and mental health as you will always feel relaxed. Discipline is the most important element to shed off excess weight.
