Knowing what to do to achieve their health & fitness goals is not enough. You can find anything you want to know 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are a lot of free information on the internet, libraries, clinics, and schools. However, according to the Centers for Control and prevention, more than one third of adults and one-sixth of children in the United States are obese.

In the last twenty years, obesity rates have doubled for adults and tripled for children. If these trends continue, by the time today's children reach adulthood, obesity will be the norm and the exception a healthy weight. In fact, for the first time in the history of our country, the current generation of children in America may have the life expectancy of less than their parents.

How can that be when we live in the information age?
It only proves my point that it takes more than knowing what to do. Then, what is the difference between two women watching the same exact set of facts when one deals with its objectives of fitness with success and the other tries and fails? Here is the difference: all the same of other factors, their mindsets are different. That is! No secret.

Let's take a look at a case study of the mentality and behaviour that is created.
We will call our fictitious participants Amy, outstanding student "A" and Felicia, the student failure "F". How are their different mentalities of each other? Amy assumes responsibility for where it is and where it wants to go. Felicia is probably playing a blame game and rejects any responsibility about their circumstances. Amy sets realistic goals or milestones for a larger purpose and she herself is responsible for.

Felicia sets unrealistic goals and left off-hook by not achieving them. Amy has a strong motivation, something important enough to her to change her habits. Felicia motivation is temporary and weak and she remains in the same old failed patterns that led her to where she is.

All other things equal, the mindset is the key difference as to what some women have success in weight loss and others not. The above reasons are just a few examples of how our minds are our biggest obstacle to lose weight and make healthier choices for ourselves.

What you can do this week to improve their mentality? Try to make a journal entry and ask yourself "what is my biggest obstacle to losing weight?" Then make at least one small change this week to blast through the barricade. You can do it! I know.
