Chiropractic treatment has been active in the United States for more than 100 years. The science behind chiropractic has evolved, and studies have shown results of the comparison between the common health care and traditional chiropractic care. Studios began to produce conclusive evidence as soon as the Decade of 1980 in chiropractic impact concerning the positive aspects have on children and their immune systems, tissues and neuronal health. Here are some highlights from several studies published in chiropractic and medical communities:

-One study compared health models medical and chiropractic, focusing particularly on rates of infection of ear in children. 69% of the Group's Chiropractic of children registered as infection in the 'free' ear, while only 20% numbers reported medical children.

A 2004 study carried 21 children with acute inflammation of the inner ear and bulging eardrum with an internal temperature of more than 100 degrees F and application chiropractic adjustments. Adjustment post numbers showed that the bulging eardrum was reversed in 95% of children and the internal body temperature returned an average of 98.7 degrees F.

-Nocturnal enuresis is an embarrassing accident for a child to have. Parents often concerned that there could be a health concern that needs to be addressed. Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to reduce the problem and in fact, often correcting all together. A study of 46 children 1994 received chiropractic care for a period of 10 weeks. A quarter of those children receiving chiropractic care was 50% or greater reduction in the frequency of wet night, while none among the control group saw a reduction.

A 1991 study took the children with a history of persistent bed-wetting and received eight chiropractic adjustments. Number of wet nights fell seven per week to four. In a 1994 article JMPT, a study indicated that your lower back from an eight-year-old male bed wetter was adjusted once and in a follow-up to a month. There was a complete resolution of enuresis. "It happened in a way that could not be attributed in time or placebo effect."

-Colic in babies is not only stressful in the child, but also to parents. A small study 1999 follow-up versus chiropractic physicians compared outcomes for the cramps 50 babies. Half received the drug dimethicone and other spinal manipulation. At the conclusion of the two-week study, fits infants saw a reduction of 67% in tears and the drug therapy group saw a reduction of 38%. Another study of 316 infant suffering from colic child showed positive results with chiropractic treatment in 94% of the cases. The results were within 2 weeks and after an average of 3 visits.

-Suboccipital strain (neck strain) of the birth process was first recognized in the 1960's by Dr. Towbin. Since then several studies have been published including one in medicine 1999 Manual by Dr. Biederman in which 600 babies were treated to suboccipital strains.

The main symptoms include stiff neck, fever of unknown origin, loss of appetite, swelling on one side of the facial soft tissues, asymmetrical development of the skull, crying when the mother tried to change the position of the child and the extreme sensitivity of the neck when he played. Most patients require one to three settings before returning to normal.

-Sid, or sudden infant death syndrome has been a concern for parents and medical professionals. A study published in Forensic Science International 2002 followed 695 children between 1 and 12 months of age who received chiropractic adjustments of upper cervical (neck) if they exhibited alterations in posture & movement in the upper part of the neck. 47% of the children showed a change in the heart rate compared with control conditions.

Apnea caused by abnormalities of heart rhythm (often due to misalignment of the upper cervical vertebrae) is believed to contribute to SIDS deaths, leading the authors to recommend that the newborns to be screened for chiropractic adjustments.

-Asthma has become more prevalent in today's society than ever before. The parents of asthmatic children can attest to the negative side effects and the impact that has on the life of the child. Children can articulate the challenges faced due to his asthma.

Published in the journal of spinal research 1997 subluxation, a study was an analysis of 81 children with asthma impairment rating before and 2 months after chiropractic care. Significantly lower degree of impairment scores (improvement in symptoms) reported over 90% of the subjects. In addition, 31% of children voluntarily reduce your dose of medication for an average of 66.5% under chiropractic care.

These studies highlighted some of the concerns of the health of children today. They are a great example of the natural benefits of chiropractic community can have on younger age groups throughout the world. Beginning chiropractic care in the child age level can prevent many common ailments and problems that could arise without.
