A Simple Solution to Putting on Weight.
Losing a lot of weight through illness can provoke thoughts generally about where we can get help with our diet. Gaining weight doesn't seem so popular as slimming. A climate which leads to there being less information on weight gain as against weight loss.
The simplest solution is to eat more, particularly carbohydrates. Years ago in war torn Britain the old pattern eating still held of a hearty breakfast, a mid-morning "lunch", dinner at mid-day, high tea (cooked), and supper at bedtime. None of these were snacks apart from the mid-morning "lunch.".
A very simple way of increasing food intake is to take six meals a day instead of the usual breakfast, lunch-time and dinner/supper. To allow proper digestion, the extra meals would be lighter than the three main ones.
Spreading (The Good News)
What to eat then? Again a simple solution. Think of what the slimming clubs advise us to leave out, and eat plenty of them: potato chips, pies, butter and full-cream milk and as much cheese as you can bear, sprinkled over soups and vegetables.
Planning the menus is a good time to think about the overall balance of our nutrition, making sure we eat a diet taken with all the elements of good nutrition.
Eating more pies does not mean eating less fruit and vegetables. The intake of fat in the butter and cheese and full cream milk should go along with starchy foods, and good quality proteins, preferably as fresh as possible. Many dieticians suggest that if the desire to eat flags when taking six meals a day, then a glass of wine beforehand will whet the appetite.
Don't Go It Alone
When all else fails in this last respect then a good quality fortified nutritional drink can be taken instead of one of the meals. Make sure that you ask a pharmacist or dietician which is the most suitable for yourself to lose weight or gain it.
It is important to seek professional advice. In chronic cases, or as a result of illness your general physician or hospital consultant is first port of call. Otherwise the advice is everywhere! There is a huge gulf between the advice and its practical application. Every individual has unique body functions in some aspects within the overall, normal, framework of human physicality.
A huge number of websites deal with this and used with common sense give much supportive information. I suggest a visit to Google Keywords and the entry of "gain weight" into the search engine. It will enhance your eventual experience greatly if you search for the word "recipes". Look for those which give you some detail on getting the right balance into your newly expanded diet.
